Trippy Tribbitt link with rising 16 years star Glockianna to make an anthem not just for Memphis but the entire world. This is song is the definition of two generations coming together to make magic within music. Trippy speaks about more of being slept on in the music industry and Glockianna takes more of a personal approach to speak to the younger generation of things she deal with. It’s definitely one of them bangers we been waiting for. The question is can it become a hit?

Memphis, the home of the blues has definitely contributed to the sound of the rap scene since the 90s. Most people would agree that the home of Elvis has provided a trendsetting culture that continues to have a global impact through dark melodies and jookin’. As labels continue to sign talent from one of the hottest markets, Sleepy Loco has been establishing himself as one of the city's upcoming artists from the Bluff.
In 2022, the Memphis rapper followed up his fifthteen city “No Deal” promotional tour, by dropping Blu Language 2:Out The Blue. This project garnered over a million streams along with over 500,000 listeners just on his Spotify alone. The Lifted Life Ent spokesman expanded his fan base that populated after going bar for bar with featured artists such as Premo Rice “Popcorn Playa”, Starlito “Not Like Mine”, Eddie Valero “Monopoly”, TripStar “Free The Real” along with platinum producers such as Hitkidd and Blame Swagg.
Fast forward to 2023, Loco’s latest release is a EP titled “In Mook We Trust” dedicated to his uncle who inspired him to rap. On this project, unlike the trending music coming out the 901, this project contains the boom bap laced with soulful symphonies and samples. As Loco takes you on a deep journey capturing his thoughts revealing the pain he’s felt over the years. Check out ”Heaviest of Hearts”as he polishes this track over a jazzy feel with his mellow yet thoughtful approach, opening up about fighting depression to losing his uncle Mook early and grandmother to cancer. Although he provides us with pain symphonies, he pushes p on “Spaceships from Memphis” as he exemplifies a better version of himself expressing himself on lines like “I’m me 2.0, new and improved” followed with audio from a scene on The Mack. This is the first song released off this project as fans enjoyed his performance live, as he graced the stage prior to Premo Rice headlining the show. This song also has gained over 2 million views on Facebook alone. The Lifted Life CEO opens up more with lines such as “I can’t feel sh*t I need more affection, mama pray to God I get a spiritual connection” on the track titled “I Cant Feel”. By contrast, the East Memphian is more focused on staying real with himself and less concerned with the wave as he lyrically paints a canvas on tracks such as “Be Myself” and “Always Working”. In addition to the EP, he links with fellow Memphian, Don Trip on “100 Million Dollar Dreams” revealing his loyalty for his brothers and continuing to keep his brother Choppa G name alive, who died tragically in 2022. This project sonically has a different feel from the BLU Language series but gives you a more in depth formal invitation into Sleepy’s world as he transparently taps into another dimension. The year is looking bright for him as he pushes his pen proving he’s one of the best emcees rising out of one of rap music's hottest markets in the world.
We’re happy to be speaking today with a phenomenal underground music artist withmainstream notoriety in Hip Hop “ Scorch”! Before we get started, how has 2023 been treatingyou thus far?
2023 has been great thus far. My song Tan Caliente has been steadily rising in numbers and we just hit 7.5 million views on TikTok and the numbers are still climbing through the roof and more and more people are joining the dance challenge. It's incredible and the girls love it.
Tell us the story behind your brand name came to be?
Vault Life Entertainment is the label, VLE for short. I came up with the name in a dream. When I awoke I remembered it, ever since then my slogan has been I don’t want the bag I want the Vault. The name Scorch came from me burning down cyphers and shows. The full name is Octane Scorch Flames the first rapper in the game with a first, middle, and last name. One could say I was born into it.
How did you learn to rap/ write/ to play?
My brother Serj, the lyrical emperor, showed me how to structure my bars. I would freestyle for hours giving away free money my brother would call it. He showed me a format and it stuck with me to this day.
What was the 1st concert that you ever went to and who did you see perform?
Rakim and he was performing at Mount Morris.
If you could have a musician tag along with you on tour, who would it be?
Jay Z, that’s a no brainer to me because he’s hands down one of the best to ever do it with an endless amount of knowledge about the music game.
Do you prefer to listen to music more or create?
I prefer to create, I don’t like to listen to a lot of music from different artists. The reason being is I don’t want to be influenced by other artist subconsciously. I want my music to remain as uninfluenced by other artists as possible.
Have you had any raps you started writing and then found difficulty in finishing? What advicewould you give other indie artists to break past that to finish it?
Yes, I wrote a song named "LIFE" it’s a beautiful piece about overcoming a harsh journey in life. I’m sure every artist has at one point of time or another been through what is commonly known as Writer's Block. I’m no exception, the way to get over it can be as simple as taking a break, sometimes you have to hit the reset button. If you’re like me and you listen to the beat, it will tell you what to say and the song will basically write itself.
Have you experienced stress on stage before? If so, what do you do about it?
Yes, one time in particular, a Dj had my microphone off level after we already did a good sound check. I allowed him to correct the problem while I had to entertain the entire crowd with freestyles.
As a hip hop artist, if you could change one thing in the music industry. What would it be ?
The replication of style... you can create without stealing an artist's whole life. Just because it’s new and exciting In a lot of cases doesn’t mean that you have to be a culture voucher.
If you didn’t pursue a music career, what would you be doing?
I would probably be acting in movies if I wasn’t pursuing music.
What can your fans look forward to seeing next from the Lyrical Genius Scorch?
Next project I’m releasing is a song called "Going Up" It’s a fun energetic track that I’m releasing in February. Follow me on instagram @therealscorch and check out my website www.scorchnation.com to stay tuned and don't forget to join the #TanCalienteChallenge on TikTok and if your on IG and do a dance to my song send me a DM to let me know so I can post and share you on Facebook and Instagram. Always showing love and giving back to my fans.

African independent record label BGC Melody (#BGCMelody) has launched the first FIFA World Cup 2022 (#fifaworldcup2022) anthem. This should be the official song for the Indomitable Lions - the national soccer team of Cameroon for Qatar 2022 in November (#Qatar2022).
The track "WHEN LIONS ROAR" is a sweet and savvy blend of #Amapiano, #Afrobeats and #Makossa with a dash of spiritual spices. Delivered by the BGC Ensemble of Artists Bah'Ndong, Cindy Mbamdo, Mobe Molondo, Pope Switzeal, Thisis Mokom and Ziiana, and special guest Vernsai Sany. Masterfully produced by Marc Eff of Kovapot Beats on beats composed by HarryBeatz under the creative direction of Don Julio Bats. This will be a soccer anthem for the ages. Football has a new hymn.
The single is followed by an album of eleven tracks scheduled for a 15 November release. BGC Melody assembled its Artists and friends, together as one musical group, to release a collective tribute album for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, in view of their participation at the FIFA world Cup 2022 in Qatar. The main song, “When Lions Roar”, is also the title of the album of 11 tracks – symbolizing the 11 players of a soccer/football team. Some of the tracks are musical dedications to Cameroon’s football giants like Roger Milla, Thomas N’Kono, Samuel Eto’o, Song Rigobert. etc.
One EDM instrumental track is dedicated to “Abakwa”, or Bamenda, the capital of the Northwest Region of Cameroon, for its contribution over several decades to the rise and growth of football in Cameroon, even during the roughest moments of turmoil. The album is a mix of song, rap and EDM, built of on a foundation of Afrobeats, Amapiano and Makossa fusion.
